Bee Pollen
Bee Pollen
Bee pollen is a mixture of flower pollen, nectar, enzymes, and bee secretion that worker bees collect and form into pellets. It is a nutrient-dense substance containing carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, lipids, and antioxidants, although its exact composition varies depending on the plant source. Bee pollen typically appears as small, crunchy granules with a slightly tangy, floral flavor.
If you intend to store bee pollen for more than a few weeks after purchase, refrigeration is recommended. Dried pollen is typically taken in capsule form, up to 10 tablets a day of up to 500 milligrams each, as an extract, or it may be administered directly or sprinkled on food. Extracts of bee pollen are used in some skin care products.
We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.
Herbal Medicine does not take the place of a medical doctor.
Conventional care and herbal care are quite complementary of each other when done with intention, so it is very important to be transparent with all of your chosen health practitioners about the different medications and herbs you take.
